ABOUT ME

Rafał Lipka is a composer, music producer and sound designer creating music that strengthens emotion, atmosphere and storytelling. His work combines emotional storytelling with meticulous sound design, treating music as an integral part of the narrative rather than simply a background element.
He has composed music for Maleńka Apokalipsa (2024) and Kołtunica (2025), both nominated for the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia (FPFF), as well as the documentary Punkt Podparcia (2023), awarded at the On Art Festival 2024.
Each project begins with finding its own sonic identity. Instead of relying solely on commercial sample libraries, Rafał often records custom sounds, builds original virtual instruments and blends acoustic recordings with electronic textures to create a distinctive musical language tailored to the story.
Alongside his work for visual media, he has been developing his solo project, Barrus, since 2018. His latest album, The Kids (2024), explores progressive and alternative rock while reflecting his cinematic approach to composition and sound.
He refined his audio engineering skills at Hertz Studio and further developed his craft at film scoring workshops in Gdynia led by Jan A.P. Kaczmarek (2021) and Jerzy Satanowski (2022). Since 2026, Rafał has been a member of SPACe for Composers, a community supporting professional composers working across film, television, games and other media.
